Revolutionary cycling technology

From a simple idea to an advanced and revolutionary high-performance product, we are proud of our GRAVAA technology. Whether you are a racer, a recreational rider or a tech enthusiast: you can read more about our unique system here.

A solution for everyone

GRAVAA is suitable for everyone: from riders who pin on their race numbers every week and for whom every little detail matters, to the recreational cyclist who wants to get the best out of himself and is interested in the best technological gadgets. Because we share common passions: cycling, racing, innovation.

Unbelievable test results

We have tested with different riders, tire pressures and wattages; on tarmac, cobbles, dirt and gravel. It might sound tacky, but it’s true: our expectations were exceeded. The test results proved GRAVAA works. Optimising your tire pressure or adapting it to the surface you ride on offers a huge advantage.

On tarmac, where you tend to go faster, you can save more than 20 watts with more inflated tires. This is equivalent to a 20-30% reduction in rolling resistance. On cobbles, however, that high tire pressure (over 4.5 bar) is not recommended. Lowering the tire pressure on cobbles can save more than 50 watts, an efficiency gain of more than 20 percent. High-performance, simple to use

To introduce you to this technology, let’s take you to the hub of the wheel. Because that’s where the lightweight system is located. Thanks to this innovation, you can inflate or deflate your tire on the move. So you can adjust the tire pressure on the fly to suit the terrain you’re riding on: from gravel roads to rough, unpaved terrain, from winding forest tracks to cobbled streets.

Operation is completely wireless. You regulate the tire pressure yourself using two GRAVAA switches mounted on the handlebars. You can then check the pressure of the front and rear tires on your bike computer (Garmin and Wahoo) or via the GRAVAA app on your smartphone

From riders, for riders

GRAVAA has been developing the KAPS-technology since 6 years. The past 2 years our engineers worked day in and day out to transform the Team Jumbo Visma ridden Paris-Roubaix 2023 prototypes to a consumer grade product. A product with better longevity, better usability and minimum service requirements. In short: a system to be used like we ride it outselves

The system now meets our high GRAVAA requirements, UCI regulations and those of World Tour riders. And include unlimited use; human-powered operation without an electric motor; lightweight; as small as possible; energy-efficient; easy to install plug-and-play system interchangeable with standard wheels. It worked!

Gravaa parts

Components of the Kinetic Air Pressure System:

Miniature pump

A small, powerful multistage diaphragm pump. Powered purely by wheel rotation. By pedalling, you add more air to the tires.

Coupling

This component controls the switching on and off of the pump so that no energy is lost.

Electronics

A circuit board with built-in sensors, antenna and miniature electro-pneumatic valves, for fast and accurate tire pressure monitoring and wireless communication – with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.0 and ANT+ protocols.

Carbon rims

Our carbon rims are made from the latest carbon fibre technology. They are strong, light, aerodynamic, tubeless ready and perfectly balanced for an optimal riding experience. We did not design them ourselves, but relied on the proven top quality of Reserve Wheels and DT Swiss. The result: an optimal synergy with a good balance between weight, stiffness, strength and riding experience. All wheels are extensively tested, with the support of recognised external testing institutes.

 Controls

With one click, you can manage your tire pressure on the move using the GRAVAA controls on the handlebars. The wireless control unit comes as standard with our bikes. You can see the current tire pressure of both the front and rear wheel on your bike computer.uter (Garmin and Wahoo) and in the GRAVAA app.

Hubs

Robustness is an important concept at GRAVAA; after all, we guarantee that our product can cope with any terrain. That is why we have chosen the most reliable hub system on the market: the DT Swiss Ratchet system. The advantages: the best quality and the freedom to easily change the body for another group or cassette. Added bonus: DT Swiss products are widely available, making replacement quick and easy in the event of wear.

We offer a combination option with the following cassettes:

  • Shimano MicroSpline 12sp
  • SRAM XD/XDR
  • Campagnolo Ekar 13sp

Disc brake rotors

Our wheel sets are designed exclusively for disc brakes. To reduce weight and create internal space, we have integrated disc brake rotors into our hubs. The result is the lightest model of its kind. The rotors are made from special hardened stainless steel used in aerospace applications and are available in three sizes:

  • diameter = 140 mm (81 grams)
  • diameter = 160 mm (98 grams)
  • diameter = 180 mm (115 grams)

The disc brake rotors are supplied as standard with the GRAVAA wheelset and can also be ordered seperately afterwards.

App

Download the GRAVAA app from the Google Play Store or App Store and make the most of your GRAVAA wheelset. The app allows you to, among other things:

  • Set up and manage all wireless connections to your wheels;
  • Adjust system settings;
  • Switch between fixed inflation mode, deflation mode or pressure profiles (preset mode);
  • Choose an offset pressure for the rear tire (compared to the front tire);
  • Gather detailed system information.

The advantages of this innovative system

  • Adjusts tire pressure while riding; both inflating and deflating.
  • Maintains a constant tire pressure level as you cycle.
  • Displays current tire pressure.
  • More comfort for the rider.
  • More meters from your Watts
  • Reduces the risk of punctures.
  • Protects against excessive wear.
Experience GRAVAA technology and you won't want anything else.
