As a company built on the belief that riding bikes is good for us, we were honored to participate in the National Sustainable Mobility Congress in Nieuwegein this month. The event brought together hundreds of industry leaders, policy makers, and advocates. Most of them united by a common goal: creating a cleaner world through sustainable, more active, and better accessible transportation.

In this blog, we share our experience at the Congress, what motivated us to be there, the big ideas we discussed, and why adaptable tire pressure technology fits in the broader vision for Dutch mobility innovation.

Why we’re driven by more than smart tech

At GRAVAA, innovation isn’t just a goal—it’s a responsibility. Our Kinetic Air Pressure System (KAPS) allows cyclists to control tire pressure on the go. Foremost, it’s a practical solution for riders looking for better performance and comfort. But what motivates us to keep improving isn’t simply the technology itself; it’s the opportunity to give riders a better riding experience and benefit their choice to embrace innovation.

The Congress gave us the perfect platform to share our past and future milestones.

Highlights from the Congress

The National Sustainable Mobility Congress gathers great minds in sustainable transportation, entrepreneurship and legislation from across the Netherlands. The 38 (!) Congress morning sessions focused on actionable steps for reducing carbon emissions, increasing accessibility, and making transport options like cycling even more accessible within The Netherlands.

This event allowed us to:

  • Connect with policymakers: We had meaningful conversations with government representatives, investors in mobility, and sustainability advocates. With them we discussed how adaptable tire pressure technology creates better riding experiences, how it could support national transportation goals and how collaborations could lead to win-wins
  • Engage with other innovators: From extremely strong cargo bikes manufacturer Fulpra to special-needs bike manufacturer VanRaam (20.000 bikes per year), the Congress was attended by inspiring companies developing new ways to make cycling an even more compelling alternative to cars. With Fulpra, VanRaam and others we discussed ideas that could elevate the role of Dutch bike companies in mobility.
  • Showcase GRAVAA’s Dutch contribution to the Global bike industry: On stage, we shared GRAVAA’s story. Introducing how adaptable tire pressure can help riders overcome challenges like changing terrain or punctures, comfortably. The host highlighted Marianne Vos’s win on our wheels at the UCI Gravel World Championships as an example of how our technology enables performance, efficiency, and sustainability.

A Future of Seamless, Sustainable Cycling

Throughout the day, one of the recurring themes was the role of seamless, integrated technology in encouraging more people to choose bikes over cars. We’re proud that our adaptable tire pressure system fits this vision. Our technology addresses real needs for riders: comfort, safety, efficiency, and control. While still embracing the adventure that makes riding bike so appealing in the first place.

Whether it’s commuting or gravel riding, adaptable tire pressure enables smoother and safer rides with fewer disruptions. While many in the audience recognized their opportunity at faster MTB laps or Gravel STRAVA’s KOMS. For policymakers, GRAVAA contributes to bikes being a viable alternative to cars for medium and longer commutes.

Looking ahead

Our presence at the Congress reinforced that we’re on the right track and that we’ve only scratched the surface of what’s possible. In the coming months, we’ll be working to strengthen relationships with organizations like the Dutch Cycling Embassy, RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency), and other key players in mobility.

Our goal? To support a world where riding bikes is easy, fun, safe and memorable for everyone, not just a niche for enthusiasts. We’re excited to keep pushing boundaries, developing partnerships, and delivering on our promise to help every rider—whether pro racing, tackling a gravel race, or enjoying a weekend adventure—Ride Better.
