Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer

Gravaa B.V. in Eindhoven is looking for a dedicated Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

After 7 years of intensive development, we have successfully launched our ‘’tire pressure management system ‘’, which played a key role in Marianne Vos’ victory at the UCI Gravel World Championships. We are transitioning from an R&D-oriented organization to a full production organization, and we are looking for a motivated, innovative engineer to help us grow.


Profile

As a Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer at GRAVAA, you will be crucial in turning designs into market-ready products. You will be responsible for developing components, conducting product tests, and ensuring that our tire pressure management system meets the highest standards. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve product performance and take the product from prototype to full production.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components for bicycle applications.
  • You will be responsible for testing, quality control, and product verification.
  • Working with the R&D team and external partners to ensure a smooth transition from concept to production.
  • Further developing current technology to improve performance and manufacturability.
  • Picking up and driving new developments, independently and within our team of engineers, within the current product (further optimizing several key components), and completely new developments within and outside the cycling industry.


Qualifications:

  • At least a completed bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Mechatronics.
  • Several years of work experience in the development of complex mechatronic systems.
  • Experience in working with SolidWorks and analysis and simulation tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and bringing series products into production.
  • Experience with various materials, and in particular (lightweight) construction with aluminum, plastics, and their machining and processing methods. Knowledge of composites is a plus.
  • Experience with injection molding techniques and tool development is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics and electronics.
  • Knowledge of quality management and product certification are advantages.
  • A good command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbally and in writing.

We’re a young and ambitious team based in Eindhoven, and we’re looking for a skilled and service-minded bike mechanic to strengthen our operations.


Your Role

As a full-time bike mechanic, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and fine - tuning of high-end bikes, including the assembly and service of our unique Gravaa system hubs and wheels. You’ll play a key role in keeping our customers and partners satisfied with fast, high-quality work and expert support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical service and maintenance on customer and test bikes
  • Build high-performance wheels with precision and consistency
  • Support service partners with technical expertise and training when needed
  • Step in as an assembly worker for Gravaa system wheelsets during peak periods
  • Assist pro teams like Team Visma | Lease a Bike during recon rides and races
  • Help manage tools, workspace, and inventory with a professional mindset
  • Occasionally support on-site events or demos (a valid driver’s licence is required)


What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a bike mechanic, ideally with expertise in performance
    bikes
  • Skilled and experienced in building and tensioning wheels
  • Service-oriented attitude with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable communicating in both English and preferably Dutch
  • Flexible team player, willing to step in where needed
  • Lives within commuting distance from Eindhoven
  • Driver’s licence (B) required
